Former CF Montreal player Djordje Mihailovic opened his account in the colors of AZ in his third game with the Dutch top flight club on Wednesday.

The American wasted no time before shaking the ropes in the Netherlands. From the 57th minute, the 24-year-old headed in after a perfect cross from Yukinari Sugawara. He helped his team to a 4-1 win over the Go Ahead Eagles.
Mihailovic spent two seasons in Montreal in 2021 and 2022 and became a crowd pleaser. He notably set a franchise record with 16 assists in his freshman season. He ended last year with seven goals and four assists.
Recall that his transfer, announced towards the end of the summer, would have netted the Montreal club nearly €6m, or more than CAN$7.7m.
