A Completely Blind Border Collie Was Found Tied To A Post In A Forest Pets Dating

Many Irish were appalled by the story of this dog who was found abandoned in a wood. They mobilized on social networks and an appeal for witnesses was launched.

Residents of the village of Desertmartin in Northern Ireland have the opportunity to hike through the small forest of Iniscarn, which is nearby. But one summer afternoon, one of them made a startling discovery. A border collie had been hung from a post with a blue rope and a makeshift collar.

The unfortunate man, blind in both eyes, looked old. He was recovered by the Drumbonaway Kennels rescue organization, which is located about 20 minutes from the crime scene.

Voluntary renunciation?

On site, the shelter team found that he did not have an identification chip. The Belfast newspaper speculated he may have been found straying and a citizen had tied him up while he waited for someone to pick him up.

But for the center’s staff, this act would be rather malicious: “There could be a harmless explanation for this, but it is more likely that this charming dog was brought to this place and abandoned there,” confided a spokesman.

In any case, the move sparked outrage on social media. Facebook users didn’t hesitate to voice their opinions, sometimes very clearly: “This is so cruel, poor dog. He was probably wondering where he was and must have been scared. Shame on the person who did this,” one of them wrote, or again: “Managers shouldn’t be allowed to abandon other animals! commented another.

Adoption proposals have also been made by members of the community, although the dog is not yet available. There will certainly be no shortage of candidates. At the same time, the association has left a contact number for anyone who has information to provide. She wants to find the former master of the survivors.

Now the dog is in good hands and has escaped a disastrous fate: “Had it not been found the outcome could have been really bad for this elderly dog who appears to be in poor health,” concluded the Drumbonaway Kennels .
