Attempted murder, assault with a weapon, death threats and dangerous driving are among the numerous charges against the defendants.

According to the latest information, the sixty-year-old is currently in critical but stable condition in the hospital in Chicoutimi.

The attack happened on Thursday evening at the victim’s home in the Sainte-Rose-du-Nord sector.

Police were called around 7pm and, with the help of a dog handler, searched the area for almost eight hours before finding the suspect in a wooded area around 3am.

The crime scene was examined by the forensic investigation service, who are still trying to shed some light on the matter.

William Côté-Boivin was received by investigators on Friday morning and appeared at the Chicoutimi courthouse in the afternoon.

When he appeared before the judge, the person did not appear disorganized. Partial evidence was presented.

“It was my colleague who spoke to him this morning. Gentleman still seemed appropriate, seemed to understand the legal process. I’m representing my partner, so we’re going to analyze this case, which will be fully evaluated. We will explore the options for defense in the case of Mr. What I can tell you is that he is presumed innocent until proven guilty,” said defense attorney Me Luc Tourangeau.

Due to the nature of the offenses and the risk of recidivism, the Department of Law Enforcement and Law Enforcement (DPCP) refused his release.

“We have announced that we have objected to publication. Could there be other fees? At the moment I would say no, but at the moment the evidence is incomplete,” said Me William Lacombe, representative of the DPCP.

So there is more evidence to consider.

The accused will appear in court again next Friday.

We should learn more about his motives for such an act of violence.

His attorney could also ask for his release pending further trials.

William Côté Boivin remains in detention pending further trial.
