A 25-year-old young man has died in the Granada town of Churriana de la Vega (population 16,026), shot by another 32-year-old man with whom he had argued and who has already been arrested. Victims and attackers met at the door of the 24-hour Las Cruces self-service restaurant around midnight Thursday through Friday. The shot did not result in the instant death of the victim, who was able to walk tens of meters. The emergency service 112 was alerted with a call and when the health services and civil guard arrived where they had been told, the deceased, whose name or information about his age has not been published and who is a Spanish national, was on San Roque Street, just over 100 meters from the crime scene. Already in the street San Roque, as the mayor explains, he bled to death and died. The medical service could not revive him.
According to the city’s mayor, the Guardia Civil arrested the alleged killer “immediately” at his home. Antonio Narváez explained that neither of the two involved was born in Churriana de la Vega, a town a few kilometers from the capital. However, it is unknown if they lived in it at the time. Narváez has described what happened as “a very painful and extremely unfortunate situation for people”.
This is the second incident of deaths and guns this week in Granada. Two men were arrested Monday in the town of Jayena, 45 kilometers from the capital, for shooting dead another 40-year-old man who was working on a farm at the time. The deceased was working on his tractor when two vehicles arrived and shot him several times, killing him. This time, too, the arrest of the two main suspects went quickly. They went to court on Wednesday.
