Wanting to clear their plate after Thursday’s fiasco, the Philadelphia 76ers traveled to Orlando for a date with the Magic. Despite trailing by as much as 17 points in the first half, they rallied to force overtime to win 116-114. Tobias Harris was an excellent scorer. Joel Embiid’s defense was pretty good overall. Georges Niang scored 16 points on 10 shots. It’s time to talk to the Ringer Ringer. Let’s get down to business.

Tobias Harris: 26 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block

Understandably, Harris lost on Thursday, finding some rhythm, scoring 16 points on 10 shots and knocking down four triples. He carried that rhythm over on Sunday when he scored 26 goals on 18 shots, including three overtime shots. When the ball bobbed towards him, he decisively attacked downhill, punished inconsistencies and buried three long balls. Orlando’s priority was to contain Embiid and James Harden, so Harris took advantage of the opportunity. In the first half, his performance really kept Philadelphia within striking distance. He was very good on Sunday and the 66ers needed everything to secure the win.

Joel Embiid: 33 points, 16 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 blocks, 1 steal

Despite a miserable 8-of-26 shooting, Embiid was still pretty good against Orlando. Aside from a few defensive mistakes, he dominated this end of the floor, especially as a rim guard and team back. He influenced numerous shots near the basket, counted two refusals and even intercepted the ball. Wendell Carter Jr. bothered him offensively, but his transmission shone and drew many quality looks. Given Embiid’s brilliant play this season, Sunday won’t stand out, but passing and defending were integral to winning.

Georges Niang: 16 points, 4 rebounds

With Matisse Tiboule marred by the foul and generally struggling, Niang rose to see 36 minutes and featured in most of the deciding games. He has mothballed four triples and has now made four or more in three of his last five games. His quick trigger remains very valuable and he fits Harden perfectly. In seven games with Harden, Niang is averaging 10.4 points and scoring 20 of 41 from behind the arc. Even with some in-space protection issues, the Minivan was a profitable business on Sunday.
