60 IPTV Cuts: What Users Risk – Geeko – Le Soir

Streamzz has been one of the largest content providers for IPTV platforms.

This Thursday, the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) announced the closure of Streamzz, one of the world’s most popular illegal streaming platforms. Streamzz not only had 7 million subscribers but also delivered content to over 60 IPTV platforms.

The site’s contributors were paid for their work in cryptocurrency. They uploaded dozens of films, episodes of series and documentaries every day, which were illegally accessed from the Internet. The site provided access to a total of more than 75,000 films and 15,000 TV series. The closure affects the 7 million subscribers of the platform, but also the subscribers of sixty other IPTVs who have seen a whole part of the catalog of films and series for which they pay a monthly subscription disappear overnight. A sad reminder for some who discover overnight that the subscription they are paying for is not legal.

The generous content offering and very low subscription cost are leading many consumers to take the plunge and subscribe to IPTV. The problem is that if the system works well initially, it can be shut down overnight with no guarantee that it will ever work again or that the customer will be compensated.

Legally, IPTV users do not risk much. On the other hand, subscribing to an IPTV is sometimes a real obstacle course. This does not prevent the business from thriving in Europe and especially in Belgium, where IPTV installers are not even hiding anymore.
