6 Things WWE Subtly Told Us On SmackDown Another major

6 Things WWE Subtly Told Us On SmackDown: Another major return after over 2 years, Former Champions to reunite and dethrone the Usos? (19 Aug 2022)

Welcome to this week’s edition of The Things WWE Subtly Told Us On SmackDown. It’s hard to believe we’re just two weeks away from Clash at the Castle 2022, but things certainly moved quickly in August.

There was an overall renewed sense of excitement for the WWE program, and that was reassured for fans as they watched another entertaining episode of SmackDown.

So what did WWE subtly tell us as we approach Clash at the Castle? Read on to find out:

#6. Sarah Logan is apparently returning after two years

There was a section with The Viking Raiders and while we didn’t see her face we’re almost certain Sarah Logan’s return was teased. Released by WWE on April 15, 2020, she appears to be returning to reunite with her husband Erik and his tag team partner Ivar.

It will be interesting to see what role she fills. For now, the only thing subtly hinted at was their presence alongside the new and vicious Viking Raiders.

#5. Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens reunion is closer than we think

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens are getting closer to a reunion. Let’s just start by saying that Sami Zayn was the star of the SmackDown episode. Maybe it was the fact that it was happening in his hometown of Montreal, but his presence, speaking to Roman Reigns and his intercontinental title fights were the highlights of the show.

For one, Zayn had an interesting interaction with The Tribal Chief, who teased him about joining The Bloodline by saying that the Intercontinental title would look good on the faction. Most notably, however, Reigns responded to RAW’s Kevin Owens’ comments by saying that he owed no one anything.

The story appears to be heading for a turn from Sami Zayn and a reunion with Kevin Owens. In doing so, they will likely be the ones to dethrone the Usos.

#4. Is WWE Planning To Take Toxic Attraction To The Front?

Toxic Attraction was a last-minute addition to the women’s tag team title tournament as Zoey Stark reportedly faced a concussion that prevented her from teaming up with Nikkita Lyons as planned.

Instead, we have an even better team for the tournament in Toxic Attraction. We’re not sure why they weren’t put in there. But it’s clear that Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne have great chemistry as a team.

They would even beat Natalya and Sonya Deville to advance in the tournament. While they might not win it, they were subtly presented as one of the tournament’s biggest threats. We expect them to beat Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah next week.

Triple H seemed excited about Toxic Attraction’s debut, and he commented as well.

#3. Sheamus is one step closer to Grand Slam glory, but is it the wrong timing?

Sheamus defeated Ricochet, Madcap Moss, Happy Corbin and Sami Zayn to win the Fatal 5-Way Match on SmackDown. He secured his spot at the 2022 Clash at the Castle where he will face off against Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship.

It’s interesting to note that this will be the first premium live event since WrestleMania 37 in 2021 to defend the title. While Sheamus only needs that one title to complete his Grand Slam collection, he’s unlikely to dethrone Gunther.

#2. Ronda Rousey reclaims the SmackDown Women’s title sometime soon

SmackDown 1200 was quite possibly the best Ronda Rousey we’ve seen in 2022. While much of her run fell flat, she immediately found her stride to be a heel. She feels comfortable in her role and the crowd ate it all up.

Rousey was arrested by SmackDown security at the request of Adam Pearce, although she had already paid her fine. Her suspension has not yet been lifted. That being said, this new and villainous Ronda Rousey will most likely crush Liv Morgan to reclaim the SmackDown Women’s title at her next opportunity.

#1. Karrion Kross is on the horizon

Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns’ personal segment ended the episode on SmackDown, with the former standing upright at the end. Notable, however, was Karrion Kross and the hourglass he used on Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre.

We love the slow buildup of Karrion Kross’ challenge against Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns. Best of all, he might not even challenge Reigns. However, there are indications that he will come soon after the Clash at the Castle for both men.
