A US Navy sailor is said to have shot his wife’s lover after he caught them having sex in the couple’s marital bed at their Virginia home.

Tyler Lamar Jenkins, 26, has been charged with second-degree murder in the Virginia Beach shooting of 28-year-old Timothy Paul Talley III on Friday. His wife, who has not been named, was unharmed.

She told police she “feared for her life” when Jenkins entered the bedroom where she was “engaging in sexual intercourse” with her lover, who was an aircraft engineer’s mate in the Navy.

This led her husband to shoot Talley almost immediately, according to court documents, as seen in the Virginia State Pilot.

Talley, who is originally from California, was shot three times in a “home shooting death” shortly before 10 p.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jenkins was taken into custody at his home at 4800 Crystalline Place in Virginia Beach when the police, called by his wife, showed up.

‘What am I doing wrong?’ Jenkins is said to have asked when the police were taking him away, explaining that someone was having sex with his wife at his home.

Jenkins confessed to the shooting when police found the gun he used at home.

Investigators have not released an official motive for the shooting, and it is unclear if the two men knew each other. It is not clear if Jenkins’ wife served in the Navy.
