2023 NFL Playoffs Schedule: Bracket, Game Dates, Times & TV Stations for Cowboys vs. Bucs Wild Card, Divisional Round & More

Week 18 of the NFL regular season ended with the Detroit Lions defeating the Green Bay Packers 20-16, eliminating the Packers from the postseason and earning the last spot in the NFC for the Seattle Seahawks. With that final piece of the puzzle in place, the field is set for the 2023 playoffs, starting with Wild Card Weekend. The Super Wild Card Weekend schedule features six games spread across Saturday 14th January, Sunday 15th January and Monday 16th January.

Which teams will have a first-round bye in the 2023 NFL playoffs?

The Chiefs secured the AFC No. 1 seed and a first-round bye for the second time in three seasons to finish the year 14-3. In the NFC, the Eagles defeated the Giants on Sunday of Week 18 to secure the top spot and an extra week of preparation for the Divisional Round. In this game, QB Jalen Hurts returned after missing the previous two weeks (both Eagles losses) with a sprained shoulder, and it seems like bye week will be crucial. “So he can play through what he fought for to come back. . . There was no more risk, but he was in pain,” said Nick Sirianni after the game. “He was in terrible pain. But that’s the kind of competitor he is, that’s the kind of leader he is.”

A bye in the first round traditionally means home field advantage throughout the playoffs, but this year there is a potential exception: in the case of a Bills-Chiefs AFC Championships game, the game will be played at a neutral venue due to the league’s decision in the matchup between Bills and Bengals not to continue on Monday night. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell may choose the location in his sole discretion.
