HERITAGE. The Potton Heritage Association kicked off its historic BaladoDiscovery tour on Saturday morning (July 22) at the Mansonville Covered Market.
The aim is to introduce people, in French and English, to a dozen sites linked to the rich history of this commune. This guided tour includes stops at the Round Barn, Protestant and Orthodox Churches, the Vale Perkins Old Jewett Store and the Manson House, among others.
This first phase offers the opportunity to learn more about events, places, buildings and characters that have shaped local history and the development of the region. Interactive map, photos and text from the Heritage Association archives enrich this bilingual tour.
“BaladoDiscovery” is a free mobile application that can be downloaded from Google Play and the Apple App Store on smartphones and tablets. The project was made possible in part by the financial contribution of the municipality of Potton.
The association recognizes the group’s many volunteers who have produced and disseminated a “colossal amount” of historical information about Potton over three decades.
